Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Dan has practiced law since 1991, and has a wide variety of experience in civil litigation, real estate and business disputes as well as administrative and regulatory controversies. While he began his practice in Texas, he returned to South Carolina in 1993 to practice with Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman, LLP, in Rock Hill where he was a partner from 2000 until 2004. He represents clients in state and federal courts, as well as before a variety of regulatory agencies and local government councils, boards and commissions.
Dan graduated from Princeton University in 1987 with an undergraduate degree in history, and from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law in 1991. Dan is a past president of the York County Bar Association and is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association. He represents the 16th Judicial Circuit on the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates, serves on the Bar’s Judicial Qualifications Committee, and is an Attorney-to-Assist Disciplinary Counsel appointed by the South Carolina Supreme Court.
Over the years, Dan has served on the boards of numerous community and civic organizations, including Pilgrims' Inn, Keystone Substance Abuse Services of York County, Rock Hill’s Come See Me Festival, the Rock Hill/York County Martin Luther King, Jr. Task Force, the Lake Wylie Marine Commission and Common Cause of South Carolina. He was chairman of the charter school board for the Children’s School at Sylvia Circle, and subsequently was president of its first School Improvement Council. He has served for many years on the Princeton University Alumni Schools Committee for South Carolina, is an active member of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Chamber’s Government Relations Task Force. From 1999-2004, he served as a member of the South Carolina Real Estate Commission, by appointment of Governor Jim Hodges.
